   Charity Challenge (logo)

On a national level, BAE SYSTEMS is honored to work side-by-side with organizations that have a positive impact today… and tomorrow. Our employees' dedication to these and other charities is a source of pride and inspiration.

Charity Challenge - (image a man and women covered in goop) The cornerstone of our community program is "Charity Challenge," an annual project that generates charity dollars through company and individual donations, employee fundraising and volunteer activities. Each year BAE Systems selects one organization to be the beneficiary of our Charity Challenge program. This year's Charity Challenge is the American Cancer Society, with the company pledging to match 50 cents for every dollar raised, plus an additional $100 for each employee volunteer hour, and a $50,000 donation to kick-start the campaign.

Through Charity Challenge, BAE Systems employees in the U.S. successfully raised more than $5 million through individual fundraising projects this past year. During the 2004 cycle, BAE Systems employees are supporting the American Cancer Society through events such as Making Strides, and the annual Relay for Life Campaign.

BAE SYSTEMS is pleased to provide significant financial
CharityWorks Logo support to CharityWorks, a volunteer organization whose members contribute both manpower and money to qualified non-profit organizations in the Washington Metropolitan area that make a significant impact on the area's most urgent societal and educational needs. CharityWorks partners with a not-for-profit organization on an annual basis, and provides both a corps of volunteers and financial resources to make the dreams of our partner organization a reality. In 2002, CharityWorks partnered with Everybody Wins!. Donations to Everybody Wins! programs may also include the funding of libraries, enrichment activities such as field trips, parent outreach programs, book distribution to student homes, special events, end of year and holiday celebrations, and the coordination of Everybody Wins! programs in local area schools.

BAE Systems employees further support Everybody Wins! by donating their time to read to students at Beall Elementary School in Rockville, Md.

Everybody Wins! is a leading national literacy organization devoted to increasing children's prospects for success in school and in life through one-to-one reading experiences.

“Through BAE Systems support of Everybody Wins!, I am blessed
with the opportunity to be paired up with a very special second grade girl. Each Tuesday, we share our love of books and learning. She gets exposure to an adult who has made a commitment to be there for her, to share in many kinds of written adventures as well as life stories. I get to check my corporate persona at the door and for an hour accompany her to lands of princesses, dogs that talk, and mice that make dresses.” - BAE Systems employee, Nicole Jagodzinski, Rockville, Md.
