In addition to our national corporate programs, there are many local organizations that have captured the hearts of our employees and play important roles in our communities. By and large, the majority of our charitable and sponsorship activity takes place in the local communities where our employees live and work.

The CNIR division in Wayne, NJ, has been a constant force in the Northern New Jersey area, supporting local communities, in addition to local branches of national charities, through volunteerism and financial support. A recent survey of CNIR employees showed that over 62 percent volunteer at religious and community organizations, schools or homeless shelters. Lansdale, PA

BAE SYSTEMS in Lansdale has made continuous efforts to enhance our presence in the community and to make sponsorship of local charities, such as the Kisses for Kyle Foundation, Ronald McDonald Camp and the Make-A-Wish Foundation, a staple of our company. Employees at the Lansdale facility understand the community and the significant part our company plays as a contributor. They enjoy coming together inside and outside of work in order to give back to the community.

Fort Walton Beach/Eglin AFB, FL

Our community outreach program is three pronged and includes partnerships with military support organizations, local charities and economic development organizations. Examples of activities include Armed Forces Appreciation Day, the United Way, the Air Armament Museum, the Heart Walk, the Northwest Florida Math Bowl and the Economic Development Council. Not only is our company a major community contributor but our employees have consistently been points of light within the community through volunteerism, offering financial aid and taking leadership positions supporting numerous outreach activities.

Electronic Systems' over 1300 employees actively support a wide range of local programs and national charities with both financial contributions and volunteer supprot. ES leads all other business units with three bronze Chairman's Awards for Innovation in community service-one for each year since the award's inception. Clearly, ES employees are making a difference in their communities.

Greenlawn,NY

Although BAE SYSTEMS' facility in Greenlawn, NY, participates in local community events such as Greenlawn Day, and Greenlawn Fire Department celebrations, its strongest link to the community is through the BAE SYSTEMS School-Business Partnership. Through a partnership with the local Elwood School District, employees at the Greenlawn facility help students at all grade levels. A tutor program, one-on-one reading, and an annual Math Olympiad cover grade school through junior high school. At the high school level, BAE SYSTEMS engineers work closely with students to help design and build a project that will help the community. Past projects include toys designed for handicapped toddlers, a training ramp for the Guide Dog Foundation, and a handicap-access picnic table for the local veteran's hospital.

Johnson City, NY

BAE SYSTEMS Platform Solutions is a major community partner in New York state's Southern Tier. The company and its employees annually donate more than $26,000 to local charities through the Employee's Community Service Fund, the company's annual Charity Challenge fund-raiser, and direct company giving to nonprofit organizations. Contributions are focused on human-service organizations and education.

Platform Solutions founded - and remains the major sponsor of - the Broone County Coalition for Better Schools, a group of local businesses that works with local educators to enrich K-through-12 education, espcially in the areas of math and science. The company also co-sponsors, with Lockheed Martin, the annual Space Day observation to help interest local children in space exploration.

In addition, Platform Solutions employees are frequent volunteers for community-service projects such as collecting food for the local food pantry, conducting a large Toys for Tots drive, serving Thanksgiving dinner at the local Rescue Mission, and delivering Christmas trees to underprivileged families.



Fort Wayne, IN

Fort Wayne employees are involved in a wide variety of community outreach activities ranging from financial support for the United Way, Charity Challenge, and the local arts community; volunteer service to area charitites; and support for education.

Fort Wayne employees serve as tutors and mentors at Fort Wayne schools, and the company sponsors "Enviroscape," a program to broaden elementary children's understanding of environmental issues. Employees volunteer their time at the Three Rivers Literary Alliance Reading Program, Fort Wayne's Children's Zoo, Junior Achievement, Habitat For Humanity, and the Martin Luther King Club. In addition, special contributions are made via the Community Food Drive, the American Cancer Society Relay for Life, Red Cross blood drives, and the Holiday Community Outreach Project to support services for pregnant teens and battered women and children.



Kingsport, TN

BAE SYSTEMS Ordnance Systems takes great pride in the level of community involvement achieved since its arrival in Kingsport, TN in 1999. From major sponsor of the SHOUT Junior Leadership program to providing fireworks for 4th July celebrations in Kingsport and Rogersville, OSI has made its mark. Kingsport is the 'volunteer community' in the 'Volunteer State' and each of our directors and several senior managers support this volunteer sprit by contributing their time through civic clubs, chambers of commerce, American Red Cross, YMCA and the United Way of Greater Kingsport. July 2003 will see the opening of the Holston Business Development Center, a business incubator for start up businesses. This grant funded project, that will support and retain entrepreneurship in the community, was conceived, developed and implemented by the OSI team.
